» The Canary Islands » Costa del Azahar » Costa Blanca » Costa Brava » Costa Calida » Costa Dorada » Costa de la Luz » Costa del Sol » Extremadura » Costa de Almeria The northernmost and easternmost of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, 115 kilometres off the coast of Africa. Its dry, mild climate, year-round average temperature of 22OC and stunning scenery make it a great location for people looking to invest in a second property abroad. UNESCO has designated Lanzarote as a Biosphere Reserve: a status that protects and conserves the island’s landscape and ecosystem while fostering economic and human development in ways that are culturally and ecologically sustainable. Lanzarote is an island of all-white villages, roadside flowers and tough rules against advertising billboards. It has its own National Park with geysers, moon-like lava fields and numerous dormant volcanoes, while the coast benefits from long sandy beaches. Lanzarote’s airport (Guacimeta), which lies between its capital Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen, has regular flights to international destinations. For exploring the islands there are several car ferry services from ports around Lanzarote, including a direct route to the mainland.
