As Las Vegas is very popular for its reputation as the “Sin City”, every person that does not live here might think that everyone in Las Vegas either works in the entertainment and hotel business or simply lives in a hotel. It is hard for them to fathom the possibility that Las Vegas is also home for some of the finest neighborhoods in the United States where families and retirees live. Here are some of the best neighborhoods in the city.

In 1990, the transformation of Summerlin began turning thousands of acres of raw desert land into one of the greatest master-planned communities the United States. These Las Vegas luxury homes are now highly sought after, as they offer many luxurious amenities and are perfectly located at a distance, West of the Las Vegas strip. As a prospective home buyer, you’ll find outstanding communities to choose from such as The Ridges, One Queensridge Place, Red Rock Country Club, and the Paseos making the northwest valley one of the most popular areas for home purchases.

With areas like Boca Park and Canyon Point, shopping and dining options seem almost limitless. You’ll find yourself entertained and indulged at local hot spots. Whatever you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it here. There’s no doubt you’ll find plenty to do around here as well.

Green Valley

According to the City of Henderson records, Green Valley consists of about thirty-eight hundred acres. Green Valley north where it all began back in 1978, is just south of Green Valley’s commercial corridor on Sunset Road. Here, you’ll find a mix of townhomes, single-family condos and apartments.  During its construction in 1978, Henderson’s population was only around 23,000 and by 1990 it had grown to over 71,000. Today the Green Valley is used as a reference point for its upscale status.

Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown is the neighborhood closest to the heart of Las Vegas. This is the first choice to stay if your work is within the city. There are many high-rise properties and liveable workspaces that are also ideal for residential living. In Downtown, it looks like everywhere else around the city is walkable. Another perk includes being close to almost all amenities for city lifestyle and comfort such as cafes and bars, fitness gyms, parks, theaters, casinos, etc.

Centennial Hills

This is located far northwest of the city. Centennial Hills have old-style homes with the vast estate as well as newer houses in master-planned subdivisions.  If your job is somewhere north and you don’t mind the commute, this place is great for investment as you can get more for your money based on square footage. Centennial Hills is also the location for Providence- a 1,200 acres land being developed as a master-planned community.
